Noatum Maritime Acquires Majority Stake in Safina, Rebrands as Noatum Maritime Egypt
Cairo – August 18, 2024: Astana logistics company Noatum Maritime has taken over a majority stake in Safina, a leading maritime company and freight service provider in Egypt. Safina is renamed to accept Notum Maritime Egypt.
Notum Maritime, a subsidiary of Eddy Port Group, continues to develop its services and is strong in the key growth markets of Egypt, Middle East, and North Africa. The deal is expected to close in Q3 2024.
The move follows a 70% stake acquisition by Safina’s parent company, IACC Holding-Sil Eddy Ports, in 2022, ending the MENA sector’s note-extensive biblical strategy. The sector’s recent investments and new office developments further confirm this reflection.
Noatum Maritime CEO Terry Gidlow noted the importance of this role, “Welcoming Safina to the Noatum Maritime family fully embraces our vision for growth. Safina currently operates in six major locations in Egypt, with the base being in Cairo. Major centers such as Sogna, Atapia, Tamita, Port Said, Alexandria were selected.
Safina’s founder holds a minority stake in the company.
