Jammu, May 12: Marking a momentous occasion, the Jammu and Kashmir government has designated 22 officers and officials to serve at the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as Khadim-ul-Hujaj for the anticipated Hajj pilgrimage of 2024.

This strategic deployment follows meticulous selection by the Haj Committee of Jammu and Kashmir, formalized through two distinct directives issued by the General Administration Department (GAD).

Representing a diverse spectrum of expertise and experience, these appointees span various governmental sectors, embodying a collective commitment to facilitating the spiritual journey of pilgrims embarking on the Hajj.

Among the chosen individuals stand prominent figures such as Dr. Shujjat Ahmad Qureshi, entrusted with the role of Executive Officer of the J&K Haj Committee, alongside Irshad Ahmad, the designated Haj Officer. Additionally, the roster includes professionals like Zia Ul Rasool from the Postal Service, offering a wide array of skills and backgrounds to enrich the Hajj support network.

Their pivotal responsibility as Khadim-ul-Hujaj entails extending invaluable assistance and guidance to pilgrims throughout their Hajj experience, ensuring seamless logistics and comprehensive support services. From logistical coordination to personalized care, these officers and officials are poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing the pilgrimage journey’s safety and efficacy.

The comprehensive list of appointees encompasses diverse expertise, including Mushtaq Ahmad Wani from the General Administration Department, Firdose Hussain Mir from the J&K Police, and Faiyaz Ahmad from the Health & Medical Education Department, among others.

Noteworthy contributions are expected from Mohammed Irfan Akhoon, Umar Nabi Bhat, and Javid Iqbal, leveraging their proficiency in finance, education, and university administration to bolster Hajj operations.

As per directives, Administrative Secretaries and Heads of the Departments are instructed to facilitate the seamless transition of these personnel, promptly relieving them from their existing duties to assume their Hajj-related responsibilities.
