UAE and France plan to build a 1 GW data center campus together
Strategic €50 Billion Investment to Boost AI, Digital Infrastructure, and Semiconductor Development

UAE and France Partner to Develop 1 GW AI Data Center Campus
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and France have signed a strategic agreement to build a 1 GW artificial intelligence (AI) data center complex in France. The project is part of a broader €50 billion investment plan aimed at improving artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure in both countries.
The announcement followed a meeting between UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and French President Emmanuel Macron, where the two leaders stressed their commitment to enhancing AI cooperation. The French government confirmed that the agreement includes investments in AI technology, data centers, semiconductor chips and talent development in both countries.
This makes France the third European country to work with the UAE on digital infrastructure. Earlier this year, the UAE partnered with Italy and Albania on a €1 billion project to improve renewable energy connectivity, including the construction of a 430km deep-sea cable in the Adriatic Sea.
This UAE-France partnership further confirms the UAE’s growing role in global AI and technology investments.
