President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirms the UAE’s constant readiness and commitment to assist friendly countries, stand by them and extend a helping hand during crises and disasters.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) discussed the directives.

The statement was released when Sheikh Hamdan discussed the humanitarian situation in Nepal due to the recent floods in a phone call with the ERC delegation in Kathmandu today to assess the ground conditions and identify the urgent humanitarian assistance needs of the victims. As well as exploring development plans and reconstruction projects for disaster-hit areas.

During a call with the head of the ERC delegation in Nepal, Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed Al Nahyan was briefed on the humanitarian conditions in Nepal. He directed the delegation to immediately implement the proposed plan to enhance the humanitarian response of the organization and reduce the impact of the floods on the local population.

HH Sheikh Hamdan briefed the delegation on the projects Nepal currently needs to meet the immediate basic needs of the victims and examine future plans to recover from the flood damage.
