RITES Partners with Etihad Rail for UAE Rail Infrastructure Development

New Delhi [India], October 9: Public sector transport infrastructure consultancy RITES Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the UAE National Rail Network, the company informed the Exchange on Wednesday. .

According to the company’s official statement, the MoU will help explore synergies in developing railways and related infrastructure services in the UAE and the wider region.

Etihad Rail CEO Shadi Malak and RITES Limited Chairman and Managing Director Rahul Mittal signed the MoU at the Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition & Conference in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

The partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both organizations to explore opportunities for collaboration in key areas such as supply or leasing of rolling stock, project management and consultancy for railway projects, the company said.

It also includes services such as rolling stock maintenance, operation and maintenance of railway infrastructure, all of which contribute to more efficient and modernized rail services in the UAE and neighboring regions.

A key initiative under the agreement is capacity analysis of rail corridors in the UAE and neighboring regions, which is expected to increase efficiency, streamline logistics and improve trade routes.

In addition, both the companies will focus on introducing advanced IT solutions for train operations and passenger management along with technical expertise for maintenance.
