Putin and Al Nahyan Discuss Strengthening Russia-UAE Strategic Partnership
Leaders Hold Telephonic Talks on Bilateral Ties
Russian President Vladimir Putin and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently engaged in a telephonic conversation to discuss Russia-UAE relations, as confirmed by the official website of the Russian President, reported TV BRICS.
While expressing satisfaction with the current strategic partnership between the two countries, the two leaders stressed the value of further strengthening commercial, economic and humanitarian cooperation.
Strengthening Economic Cooperation
During their conversation, Sheikh Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted the achievements of important bilateral projects and agreed on the need for more mutual projects. This is in line with their continued efforts to increase economic engagement and seek new cooperative opportunities.
Milestone Agreement on Double Taxation
As part of their growing financial relations, Russia and the UAE recently concluded the First Ministerial Russian-Emirati Financial Dialogue, which resulted in a landmark decision to eliminate double taxation between the two countries. The agreement, which will enter into force on January 1, 2026, is expected to significantly increase trade and investment flows, promoting deeper economic integration.
The discussion between the two presidents demonstrates the continued commitment of Russia and the UAE to strengthening diplomatic and business relations, as well as strengthening their strategic alliance globally.
