UAE’s e& PPF Telecom Finalizes $891M Acquisition of Serbia’s SBB

UAE-based telecom giant e& has successfully completed the acquisition of Serbia Broadband (SBB), a leading cable television and broadband internet provider, through its subsidiary e& PPF Telecom. The deal, valued at EUR 825 million ($891 million), was financed through debt secured by the unit, as confirmed by e& on Wednesday.

The acquisition followed a binding contract signed in February by e& PPF Telecom Group, a joint venture between e& and Czech-based PPF, and United Group, the Balkans’ major telecoms and media provider.

The acquisition is e&’s strategic decision to enhance its presence in Central and Eastern Europe and diversify its revenue streams. Once the deal is completed, e& intends to combine SBB with its Serbian mobile subsidiary Yettel, thereby expanding its service options and market reach in the region.
