Early Education and Training
From the age of four, Sheikh Mohammed was tutored privately in Arabic and Islamic studies. Two years later, he began his formal education. His early years were marked by a strong foundation in both religious and secular studies, which set the stage for his future roles in leadership.
Military Training and Early Achievements
Sheikh Mohammed’s formal education continued at the Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot, UK, now part of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He emerged as the top Commonwealth student, demonstrating exceptional leadership and academic prowess. He then proceeded to Italy for pilot training, further expanding his skills and experiences.
At the age of 19, in 1968, Sheikh Mohammed became the world’s youngest defence minister. He was appointed head of the Dubai Police and Public Security force, a significant role that marked the beginning of his long and distinguished career in public service.
