President Sheikh Mohamed and Turkey’s Erdogan discuss Gaza in Dubai

The leaders met at Tuesday's World Governments Summit

President Sheikh Mohamed and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in substantive discussions concerning the Gaza conflict during a meeting held in Dubai on Tuesday. The encounter took place as part of the World Governments Summit, where Turkey holds the esteemed position of guest of honor.

During the summit’s second day, President Sheikh Mohamed and President Erdogan explored various aspects of the Gaza conflict, underlining the importance of international efforts to quell hostilities in the Palestinian enclave. Additionally, they underscored the necessity of preventing further escalation in the Middle East, recognizing the regional implications of the ongoing tensions.

In addition to addressing the Gaza conflict, President Sheikh Mohamed and President Erdogan delved into strategies for bolstering bilateral relations and enhancing economic cooperation between their respective countries. They highlighted the significant growth observed in UAE-Turkish relations, particularly in areas such as investment, trade, energy, technology, and sustainable development.

He also extended his condolences over the tragic loss of four UAE Armed Forces personnel in a recent terrorist attack in Somalia, showcasing solidarity between the two nations during times of adversity.

At the World Governments Summit, President Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, emphasizing the necessity for Israel to recognize and accept an independent Palestinian state.
