Salik plans to open two additional toll-gates in Dubai
Two new toll-gates in Dubai will be ready by November this year

Dubai: Dubai toll gate operator Salik is adding two locations – Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road – to optimize and#039;traffic flow and reduce congestion and#039; on major roads in Dubai.
The destinations were chosen after extensive traffic studies by the RTA. These are Salik’s first new fee entries following its highly successful IPO and DFM listing.
The new gates will be opened by November 2024.
The two new locations could help and ;reduce traffic congestion by up to 15% on Al Khail Road and #039; and up to and#039;16 percent on Al Rabat Street;. It can also help reduce traffic from Sheikh Zayed Road to Meydan Street and turn it right by up to 15 percent.
According to the RTA, the new project will construct five intersections and a connecting ramp and introduce rapid transit solutions at two key points along Al Khail Road. (This also includes improvements to First Al Khail Road and the intersections of Al Meydan and Al Zumurrud Street.) At 4,444 DFM, Salik shares started strongly, trading 2.5 percent higher in the first few minutes.
“The addition of new payment gates at two increasingly busy locations is the latest milestone in Salik’s planned growth plan for its IPO,” said Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO of Salik Company.
New Income Streams:
Yes. Salikand#039;s top officials had spoken about creating multiple new revenue streams, organic and otherwise. Recently, it had announced quite a path-setting tie up with Emaar, to provide its services at The Dubai Mall.
Now, the confirmation of more toll-gates in the city extends the revenue possibilities. Business Bay Crossing and Al Safa South are two of the most prominent and#039;gatewaysand#039; into and out of the cityand#039;s major locations.The traffic toll policies also encourage the public to shift towards mass transport means such as the metro, buses, marine transport, and soft mobility options.
Reduction of 6 Million hours:According to Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, the current toll gates have reduced Dubai’s total travel time by 6 million hours per year, reducing traffic by 26 percent on Alalla Maktoum and Al . Garhoud Bridges, shortening Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Ittihad Street travel times by 24 percent and increasing public transport ridership by 9 million passengers per year.”
