Dubai: Overcast skies and rainy weather are expected in some parts of the UAE this week. Authorities have also said that heavy rain is expected in some parts of the UAE on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

The National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) has warned that rain will fall in some parts of Abu Dhabi by Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, rain will fall in emirates such as Dubai and Sharjah and coastal areas. After that, clouds will move towards Ras Al Khaimah, the weather center said.

From Wednesday night to Friday, the amount of clouds will gradually increase in the western regions and move towards the coasts and islands. The weather warning also stated that heavy rain is likely to fall in the northeastern regions of the country on Thursday. By Friday afternoon, temperatures will decrease and the cloudy atmosphere will gradually disappear.

The National Centre for Meteorology said that the development of clouds in various regions is due to the spread of a surface low pressure = over the country from the east. Authorities said that rain with strong winds can also be expected at times.

The Meteorological Center has warned that strong winds will raise large amounts of dust in the atmosphere and reduce horizontal visibility. It has been warned that the sea in the Arabian Gulf will be very rough on Thursday and Friday due to strong winds, and this will also affect the Sea of ​​Oman. Those who go to the sea and visit beaches should be careful.

Authorities have issued a warning to UAE residents to be aware of the possibility of waterlogging and flash floods in the event of heavy rain. It has been warned that people should only go out in emergency situations during strong winds and rain, and those who go out should be extremely careful.

Drivers should reduce their speed and maintain a certain distance in anticipation of the possibility of reduced visibility. Authorities have also informed that trips to mountainous areas and areas where there is a risk of water flow should be avoided.
