UAE denies claims of funding Israel’s Gaza aid project
UAE rejects media claims about involvement in Israeli-led humanitarian project in Gaza

UAE Denies Involvement in Funding Israeli Aid Project in Gaza
A United Arab Emirates (UAE) official has flatly dismissed claims that the nation could fund an Israeli pilot project to build a humanitarian aid facility in Gaza. The statement denied allegations and called them unfounded.
The UAE’s Unwavering Support for Palestinian Statehood
Some Emirati officials made it clear that the UAE would not assist in rebuilding Gaza after the war unless Israel promised to establish an independent Palestinian state. This position is consistent with the UAE’s long-standing support for Palestinian autonomy and its conviction that a two-state solution is essential to regional stability.
“The UAE strongly denies media reports regarding funding a pilot center for humanitarian aid in Gaza and rejects the baseless allegations promoted by some media outlets,” the official said, restating the UAE’s pledge.
Israel reportedly engaged a consulting firm to develop a trial humanitarian operation in Gaza, according to the Controversy Reports.
The proposed facility would be secured by private contractors working in tandem with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and operate in regions that have been cleansed of Hamas control. The UAE vehemently denied the report’s suggestion that donor nations, including the UAE, may provide funding for the project.
It was further explained that the center would be managed by private aid organizations instead of the United Nations and highlighted that Israel recently banned the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The ban is expected to take effect within three months, significantly impacting Gaza’s primary UN relief agency.
The UNRWA Ban’s Background
Israel declared on November 4 that it will revoke the agreements that permitted UNRWA to conduct operations in the occupied Palestinian territory. This action essentially outlaws the operations of UNRWA, which has long been a vital component of Gaza’s humanitarian assistance system.
The Role of the UAE in Regional Stability
The United Arab Emirates’ refusal to participate in the proposed project demonstrates both its commitment to sustained peace and its strong position on Palestinian rights. By associating reconstruction with the establishment of a Palestinian state, the United Arab Emirates reaffirms its belief that a two-state solution is essential to attaining sustained regional stability.
