Dubai Police’s new cameras to monitor unusual activity in homes

Dubai Police and e& UAE launch IoT-based home security with 24/7 monitoring and instant response

Dubai Police Launches Smart Home Security System to Detect Unusual Activity

A smart home security system that was introduced in Dubai can identify odd activity occurring within homes. Dubai Police announced at Gitex Global that it has teamed up with e& UAE to offer a solution that would increase the security of residences and real estate.

According to details listed on the Dubai Police website, advanced motion detectors can distinguish between everyday activities and potential threats. Door/window sensors are ‘intelligently installed’ at entry points to detect unauthorized openings and immediately trigger an alert to a 24|7 monitoring centre. The touch screen hub acts as the central control unit for the security system and allows customers to manage all connected devices.

Masood M Sharif Mahmood, CEO of e&UAE, stated, “For the first time in the UAE, we are merging IoT-based home security systems with quick police response to identified movements, a key step toward transforming residential areas into smart, secure places.

The system consists of ‘cutting-edge’ IoT sensors that detect unusual behavior, which are supported by security cameras. These devices are monitored 24 hours a day by security centers managed by e& UAE, ensuring a timely response to suspicious movements.

The device can be directly connected to a specific operating room, allowing suspected abnormalities to be verified immediately.

“If any movement is detected, customers will receive alerts through a mobile app and they can choose to manage the system themselves or connect to a special operation room,” the police said in a statement.

As a technology provider, e& UAE will oversee the system from customer registration to installation, maintenance and technical support. Dubai Police will ensure coordination for customers who wish to connect the computer to the Special Operations Room.
