Etihad Airways Honors UAE Paralympics Team with Special Send-Off
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – Etihad Airways proudly welcomed the UAE Paralympics team this week as they embark on their ambitious journey.
The national airline of the United Arab Emirates showed its support for the delegation with a celebration of 22 athletes, coaches, medical staff and staff at Zayed International Airport on Wednesday. The airline will display a giant billboard with the slogan ‘Unstoppable Passion’ across its Abu Dhabi headquarters building. Unforgettable Journey’ supports the work of competing athletes.
In a video posted on Etihad’s social media channels, the group was warmly welcomed at the airport by a group of Etihad staff and volunteers as they enjoyed the delights of the Etihad Lounge ahead of their flight.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said: “We are very proud of the UAE athletes and we extend our best wishes ahead of their upcoming competitions.
“At the Etihad our mission is to give flight to ambition, and there’s no better way than to fly this team of ambitious and talented athletes.”

Etihad’s highly trained cabin crew are happy to assist passengers with additional needs during their flight. This includes supporting visually impaired guests to navigate around the aircraft, select the menu and enjoy their dining experience. Cabin crew will update guests with hearing-impaired in-flight announcements, while they can enjoy comprehensive entertainment on E-Box with subtitles in multiple languages.
With Etihad, guests can bring their own wheelchair or mobility aid, or use wheelchair assistance at the airport.
Etihad welcomes guests with qualifying disabilities to travel with their licensed, trained service dog, which must be booked in advance.
