Two Bangladeshi Expats Celebrate Dh150,000 Wins in Abu Dhabi’s Big Ticket Weekly Draw
Abu Dhabi: Two Bangladeshi expatriates living in Oman and Qatar have each secured Dh150,000 in the Big Ticket Abu Dhabi weekly e-draw, marking a life-changing moment for both.
Minhaz Chowdhury, a 38-year-old based in Oman for over 15 years, initially believed he had clinched the grand prize when he received the congratulatory call. Although it was a weekly prize, the excitement remained undiminished.
“I didn’t believe it until the confirmation email arrived,” said Chowdhury, who has been participating in the draw for four years along with a group of 10 friends pooling their money. He now plans to use part of his winnings to build a home and contribute to charitable causes.
“I never imagined I would win, but now I see that persistence pays off,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rabiul Hassan, a 29-year-old driver from Chittagong living in Qatar for the past eight years, also struck lucky. Hassan learned about Big Ticket through a Facebook ad three years ago and has been consistently buying tickets with four friends ever since.
“It was unbelievable — I wanted to jump out of excitement,” said Hassan, who now looks forward to taking a long-overdue vacation with his family and offering help to those in need.
Big Ticket’s weekly e-draws award five winners with Dh150,000 each, and every ticket purchased in April automatically qualifies for these bonus chances. For Chowdhury and Hassan, their persistence and optimism finally turned into a memorable win.
