UAE Weather alert: Dust storms, rough seas, and heat forecast today
NCM warns of poor visibility, high temperatures, rough seas, and mist; public urged to stay cautious and follow official safety updates

UAE Braces for Dust Storms, High Winds, and Heat as Weather Alert Issued
The UAE’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather advisory for Thursday, warning residents of dusty conditions, high winds, rough seas, and rising temperatures across various regions of the country.
According to the forecast, northwesterly winds ranging from 15 to 25 km/h, and gusting up to 40 km/h, are expected to sweep through inland areas, kicking up sand and reducing visibility, especially on open roads. The day will remain partly cloudy, with dust-laden skies anticipated across much of the UAE.
Temperature spikes are also on the radar. The highest temperature recorded on Wednesday hit 41.2°C in Kalba, Sharjah, and today’s highs are expected to range from 35°C to 39°C in internal regions, 33°C to 37°C along the coast, and 31°C to 36°C in mountainous areas.
Humidity levels are expected to increase by night and into Friday morning, with a chance of mist formation in internal areas—prompting a cautionary note to early morning commuters due to potentially reduced visibility.
Sea conditions are expected to be rough, particularly in the Oman Sea, where waves may reach up to 6 feet offshore. The morning seas in the Arabian Gulf will likewise be extremely choppy, but they should calm down later in the day. Beachgoers and mariners are urged to use caution as the marine advisory is in effect until midday.
Authorities advise people to avoid needless outdoor activities during windy or dusty conditions and to be updated through official sources. It is highly advised that anyone considering a recreational trip or going by sea heed all safety advisories.
