Weekend Inspiration for Cooler Weather from Dubai’s Crown Prince

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, invited his 16.7 million Instagram followers to enjoy the tranquil and refreshing climate of Jebel Jais by sharing an inspirational weekend getaway there.

Sheikh Hamdan shared a video and two breathtaking images from Ras Al Khaimah’s Jebel Jais mountains on social media. The Crown Prince used a thermometer sticker that read 21°C and the hashtag “Jebel Jais” to draw attention to the sharp contrast with the rest of the United Arab Emirates, where temperatures were between 32 and 33°C at the same time.

The Majestic Jebel Jais: A Natural Wonder

The Hajar mountain range, which includes the Jebel Jais mountains, is located in both Oman and the United Arab Emirates. These mountains are the highest point in the area, rising an astounding 1,934 meters above sea level. The range, which is 700 kilometers long and 100 kilometers wide, acts as a natural border between the two countries.

It is well known that Jebel Jais has a colder microclimate. The peaks can see winter temperatures as low as -5°C, providing a cool respite from the scorching heat below. The mountain is a well-liked location for adventurers and environment lovers due to its distinct climate and scenic splendor.

Hiking Trails and Scenic Views

For those seeking adventure, Jebel Jais offers some of the most challenging and scenic trails in the UAE. The Highlander Trail, for example, takes hikers on a journey with steep elevation gains, climbing from 150 meters to 1,800 meters above sea level. The mountain’s diverse landscape, with clouds casting shadows over the peaks, offers stunning views and a unique experience for visitors.

Jebel Jais: A Geologic Marvel

Geologists think that a continental collision close to the Arabian–Eurasian plate boundary created the Hajar mountain range, which includes Jebel Jais, more than 70 million years ago. Jebel Jais is still a geological gem today and a refuge for individuals looking for peace and adventure.

Sheikh Hamdan’s weekend retreat to Jebel Jais is the ideal motivation for anyone wishing to escape the heat in the United Arab Emirates. Visit the cooler, breathtaking scenery of the country’s tallest mountain range.
