UAE Sends Monkeypox Vaccines to Five African Countries Under President’s Directive
Abu Dhabi [UAE], September 1: Following the order of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has sent several flights with Monkeypox vaccines as part of its humanitarian efforts to support other countries in facing challenges and crises. The Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon are supporting their efforts to control and contain the virus.
Minister of State Sheikh Shakhbood bin Nahyan Al Nahyan said this highlights the UAE’s key role in promoting global humanitarian and health efforts and reaffirms the country’s firm commitment to helping other countries during crises and disasters.
He added that the initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian values as part of its ongoing commitment to reach out and help affected communities around the world.
