Dubai’s Floodlit Beaches Flourish After Dark
Floodlit shores draw crowds, offering relief from daytime heat amid regional tensions

Dubai’s Beaches Shine at Night as Summer Temperatures Soar
Dubai. October 9:
Roasted by summer temperatures that are too hot for beaches, Dubai has turned to an innovative solution: open them at night, complete with floodlights and lifeguards carrying nighttime binoculars.
Idea, one of the hottest regions in the world. With temperatures rising ever higher due to climate change, more than a million people have taken to the beaches at night since last year, an official said.
Night beaches are busy on weekend evenings, even as much of the region is embroiled in a wider conflict that pits Israel against Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, the giant neighbors of the United Arab Emirates.
“The temperature drops in the evening after sunset. So, yes, it’s amazing,” said Mohammed, 32, who brought his children to enjoy the sea without worrying about the Gulf sun.
For residents of Dubai. The desert metropolis, home to about 3.7 million people, experiences the hottest season from June to October.
