UAE Welcomes 15th Group of Wounded Palestinian Children and Cancer Patients
Abu Dhabi [UAE], April 5: In a remarkable demonstration of humanitarian solidarity, the UAE welcomed the 15th group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients on Friday, underscoring the nation’s unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable populations during times of crisis. This compassionate initiative, orchestrated in accordance with the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aims to provide critical medical treatment for 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip, highlighting the UAE’s steadfast dedication to humanitarian causes on a global scale.
The arrival of the patients, comprising a total of 27 individuals in urgent need of medical assistance, accompanied by 60 family members, marked a significant milestone in the ongoing humanitarian endeavors spearheaded by the UAE. Departing from Al Arish International Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the group’s plane touched down at Zayed International Airport, where they were warmly received by dedicated medical teams poised to offer immediate assistance and care.
Upon arrival, the medical teams swiftly facilitated the transfer of the wounded and critically ill patients to hospitals for urgent treatment, ensuring timely access to medical interventions. Concurrently, other patients and their accompanying family members were escorted to their temporary residence at the Emirates Humanitarian City, where they would receive ongoing support and accommodation throughout their medical journey, epitomizing the UAE’s commitment to comprehensive care and holistic assistance.
Expressions of gratitude resounded from the relatives of the patients, who extended heartfelt thanks to the UAE and its visionary leadership for spearheading this noble humanitarian endeavor. They hailed the UAE’s unwavering dedication to solidarity and support, characterizing it as a beacon of hope amidst challenging circumstances. The prompt response and tireless dedication of the UAE’s medical and volunteer teams were also lauded, underscoring their pivotal role in providing compassionate care and unwavering support to the patients throughout their journey of healing.
Since the onset of the crisis, the UAE has emerged as a steadfast supporter of Gaza, exemplified by initiatives such as “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,” which seeks to provide crucial humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian assistance has manifested in the establishment of a 150-bed field hospital in Gaza and the deployment of the Floating Hospital in Al Arish port. These state-of-the-art medical facilities are equipped with cutting-edge amenities, including operating rooms, intensive care units, radiology, laboratories, pharmacies, and medical cabinets, ensuring comprehensive medical care for those in need.
