UAE Condemns Israeli Forces for Burning Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital

Abu Dhabi, Dec. 28: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday strongly condemned the burning of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip by Israeli forces.

In a statement issued by its Foreign Ministry, the UAE rejected the act, describing it as a “grave violation” of international humanitarian law and part of a “systematic attack” on Gaza’s already fragile health system.

The ministry called for an immediate cessation of violence, stressing the importance of protecting civilians and civilian institutions.

“The current situation represents a catastrophic humanitarian emergency that demands urgent attention,” the statement said.

The UAE urged the international community to intensify efforts to prevent further deterioration in the “occupied Palestinian territory” and to support all efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and just peace.

Health officials in Gaza said on Friday that the siege had totally destroyed the Kamal Adwan Hospital’s operation and surgery departments, laboratory, maintenance units, ambulance units, and warehouses, all of which had been fully burned down.

About 350 individuals, including 75 injured patients and their friends, were housed at Kamal Adwan Hospital, the biggest medical facility in northern Gaza, prior to the Israeli onslaught. As part of its military operations in northern Gaza, the Israeli army has been besieging the hospital for over two months, saying that it is a hideout and bastion for “terrorists.”
