Dubai Metro extends operating hours to accommodate more passengers

RTA extends Dubai Metro hours from December 28-30, 2024, to manage holiday travel demand

Dubai Metro Extends Operating Hours to Facilitate Holiday Travel at Dubai Airport

To enhance the convenience and accessibility of transportation for passengers traveling through Dubai International Airport during the busy holiday period, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced an extension of Dubai Metro operating hours. This extension applies to the stretch of the metro line between Centrepoint and GGICO stations and will be in effect from December 28 to December 30, 2024.

The RTA’s move is aimed at facilitating passenger traffic and providing passengers with more options as they attempt to travel to and from Dubai International Airport during the busy holiday season. The extended operating hours are aimed at handling the higher number of passengers expected in the city during this period, giving them more time to complete their journeys and easing traffic on the roadways.

The RTA is also encouraging travelers to verify their Nol card balances before to starting their trips in light of these modifications. For a round trip, silver cardholders must have a minimum balance of Dhs 15 and gold cardholders Dhs 30. By ensuring that passengers have sufficient credit on their cards, they can prevent delays and ensure a seamless journey during extended Metro hours.

This service improvement demonstrates RTA’s ongoing commitment to improving the efficiency and reliability of Dubai’s public transport system, especially during peak demand periods such as the holiday season. The increased Metro hours will be particularly helpful for people looking for an easy and reasonably priced way to travel to different destinations in Dubai, or for those connecting flights.
