The Earth observation satellite was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Tuesday at 11:09 p.m. (UAE time) by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
MBZ-SAT, developed entirely by Emirati engineers at MBRSC, marked a significant turning point in the history of satellite development in the United Arab Emirates.
The name of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is displayed on the satellite.
The MBRSC Mission Control Center will oversee the management and operation of the MBZ-SAT, with a dedicated team handling its functions and analyzing the data sent back to Earth.
MBZ-SAT will offer double the accuracy of earlier models and be ten times more efficient in producing images.
Because of its integrated planning and processing system, which can produce processed photos within two hours of capture, this progress has been made possible.
Among the many duties this satellite will do are infrastructure management, environmental monitoring, and disaster recovery assistance.
