UAE to Experience Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms as Cold Air Mass Approaches
According to a report by the National Center of Meteorology, the country will experience a surface depression which will bring rain in the next few days. A “relatively cold air mass at upper levels” will affect the UAE from October 6 to 9.
According to the Department of Meteorology, during these days, the UAE will “pass through a surface depression, with an upper air depression from the south and another upper air depression extending from the north”.
What impact will this have on the climate?
When these pressure fields combine with mountains in the east and cold air masses at certain altitudes, convective clouds are likely to form.
It may cause rain in some eastern, northern and southern areas.
Showers possible in the east on Sunday; From Monday to Wednesday, some parts of the country will experience lightening and thundershowers along with heavy rain.
From Monday to Wednesday, light to moderate winds are expected to reduce horizontal visibility and cause dust. Seas are light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea areas.
