UAE Weather Alert: Yellow Warning for Dust Storms and Strong Winds
The United Arab Emirates is currently experiencing heightened weather conditions, as active northwesterly winds, reaching speeds of up to 40 km/hour, are sweeping across the sea and western regions since early Tuesday morning. These winds are carrying significant amounts of dust and dirt, prompting the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) to issue a yellow alert. Residents are advised to exercise caution, especially during outdoor activities, due to reduced visibility caused by the blowing dust.
As a result of these strong winds, horizontal visibility has dropped to less than 2000 meters, posing potential risks to commuters and travelers alike. The NCM anticipates these weather conditions to persist until approximately 7 pm.
Today’s weather forecast for the UAE indicates generally partly cloudy skies, with intermittent cloud cover expected over select northern and eastern areas. There is also a possibility of rainfall in certain regions.
Furthermore, humidity levels are expected to rise during the night and into Wednesday morning, potentially leading to fog or mist formation in internal and coastal areas.
Temperature-wise, the mercury is set to soar, with internal areas projected to experience a maximum temperature of 42ºC. Conversely, mountainous regions may see temperatures dip to a minimum of 13ºC.
In Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the maximum temperatures could reach 41ºC and 39ºC, respectively. Overnight, the minimum temperatures are forecasted to be 24ºC and 29ºC, respectively. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather advisories and take necessary precautions to stay safe amidst these changing weather conditions.
