UAE Weather alert Intense Heat with Light Winds, Possible Dust

UAE Scorches Under Intense Heatwave, Temperatures Soar Above 46°C

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) predicts another day of extremely high temperatures throughout the United Arab Emirates, which is still experiencing a severe heatwave. The sky is predicted to stay mostly clear, but the extreme heat, particularly in the interior, is causing health and safety advisories.

With temperatures predicted to reach between 42°C and 46°C, inland regions are expected to endure the worst heat. Islands and coastal regions are not far behind, with high temperatures predicted to range from 39 to 44 degrees Celsius. The temperature in mountainous areas will be slightly lower, between 32°C to 39°C.

The highest temperature recorded yesterday was 46.2°C in Sweihan, Al Ain, at midday, making it one of the hottest locations in the UAE.

Winds will generally remain light to moderate, but may occasionally strengthen during the day, stirring up dust—especially in areas open to southeast to northwest winds. Wind speeds are expected to range from 10 to 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 35 km/h.

Despite the heat, sea conditions will remain relatively calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, according to the forecast.

Residents are being advised by authorities to stay inside during the hottest parts of the day, drink plenty of water, and stay out of the sun, especially in open and unprotected areas.
