Bangladesh Set to Face UAE in Two-Match T20I Series Ahead of Pakistan Tour
As Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) prepare for a two-match T20 International series, cricket fans should expect an intriguing matchup. The games, which will serve as a warm-up series for Bangladesh prior to their forthcoming five-match trip of Pakistan, will take place at the storied Sharjah Cricket Stadium on May 17 and 19.
New Leadership Era for Bangladesh
The Bangladesh team will take the field under the leadership of Litton Das, who steps in as captain, replacing Najmul Hossain Shanto. Litton is no stranger to leading the team—he previously captained Bangladesh to a 3-0 series win over the West Indies in December when Shanto was sidelined with a hamstring injury. The experienced batter from Dinajpur has also captained Bangladesh in one Test and seven ODIs. Supporting Litton is all-rounder Mahedi Hasan, who has been named vice-captain for the series. The leadership change comes at a strategic moment as Bangladesh looks to fine-tune their combinations and form ahead of a demanding schedule.
UAE Rely on Star Performer Muhammad Waseem
The UAE team, on the other hand, will rely on Muhammad Waseem’s explosive play, as he has been a reliable force since making his T20I debut in October 2021. Waseem is a key member of the UAE batting lineup since, notably, no other batter has scored more T20I runs during this time.
Match Timings
The matches will begin at 8:30 PM IST, 7:00 PM local time in the UAE, and 3:00 PM GMT.
