UAE Leads Global Digital Transformation with AI Innovation and Advanced Infrastructure
Abu Dhabi [UAE], April 27:
The UAE continues to set a global benchmark in the fields of digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence (AI), thanks to its forward-thinking strategies, substantial investments, and focus on developing both infrastructure and skilled talent.
In 2017, the UAE government introduced the “UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence,” designed to boost government efficiency, nurture a thriving digital environment, and establish the UAE as a top global investor in AI by 2031. This ambitious strategy covers vital sectors such as transportation, renewable energy, education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability.
As a result, the UAE has emerged as a leader in AI and blockchain technology adoption. For nine consecutive years, it has maintained the top global position for fibre-to-the-home network coverage, reaching 99.5% of its territory. Furthermore, according to Ookla’s March 2025 study, the UAE ranks first internationally in mobile internet speeds and second in fixed broadband speeds, demonstrating the strength of its digital foundation.
AI integration has significantly improved government services, increasing consumer satisfaction and service quality via intelligent technology. In the United Nations E-Government Survey 2024, the UAE ranked first in the Telecommunication Infrastructure Index (TII), reflecting its achievements.
On a regional level, the UAE also led the “Government AI Readiness Index” by Oxford Insights, recognized for its advancements in governmental efficiency, technological development, and access to digital infrastructure.
The UAE’s strategic commitment to AI positions it at the forefront of global digital transformation efforts. AI is becoming a key driver of both public-sector change and commercial sector innovation.
According to InterRegional for Strategic Analysis, AI-related job creation in the UAE is surpassing other industries, with yearly growth of 74% based on LinkedIn data.
Experts welcomed the UAE’s approach. Rob Van Dale, Partner and Digital Transformation Leader at Kearney Middle East and Africa, described the UAE’s AI integration as establishing a new “operating system” for society, resulting in enormous private-sector expenditures. Faisal Hamady, Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group, stated that the UAE has progressed beyond simply adopting AI to carrying out large-scale AI initiatives with strong government leadership.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Jamal, Regional Director of AI Solutions at NVIDIA, stated that the UAE has progressed from developing AI infrastructure to actively profiting from its investments. Hitendra Patel, CEO of the worldwide Innovation Management Institute, stressed that the UAE’s quick AI adoption establishes a new worldwide standard, cementing the country’s status as a digital pioneer.
