UAE Strengthens Humanitarian Aid for Sudanese Refugees in Chad During Ramadan
The UAE remains committed to providing humanitarian assistance to Sudanese refugees in Chad, especially during Ramadan.
The UAE Aid Coordination Office in N’Djamena, Chad’s capital, gave 5,000 food parcels as part of an Iftar aid initiative. This project distributed 3,500 food packages to Sudanese refugees in Tréguine and Breidjing refugee camps in the eastern Ouaddaï region, benefiting almost 20,000 people.
In addition, 1,500 food packages and 33 tons of dates were delivered in N’Djamena and its neighboring districts in partnership with Chad’s Ministry of Social Action, Solidarity, and Humanitarian Affairs. This extended relief effort assisted roughly 30,000 people, ensuring that disadvantaged populations had access to crucial food supplies during the holy month of Ramadan.
Rashid Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Chad, emphasized the country’s ongoing commitment to providing crucial humanitarian aid to Sudanese refugees, as well as assisting host communities with relief operations.
He emphasized that the UAE’s policy not only provides immediate assistance but also contributes to regional social and economic stability. He emphasized the importance of these activities during Ramadan, citing the history of the UAE’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose vision highlighted global humanitarian help, particularly for needy families.
The UAE continues to play an important role in addressing refugee needs and promoting regional peace by delivering critical supplies and strengthening support systems in Chad.
