UAE: New Ajman to Abu Dhabi Bus Services Start July 9

New Ajman-Abu Dhabi Bus Services Launch July 9 with Enhanced Options

Public bus services between Ajman and Abu Dhabi are set to commence four daily trips starting July 9, as announced by the Ajman Public Transport Authority (APTA) via a social media post on X on Monday, July 8. This new service is part of APTA’s efforts to improve public transport connectivity and meet the growing needs of commuters.

Starting on July 9, the bus service will feature four buses departing from Ajman to Abu Dhabi, and two additional buses making the return trip from Abu Dhabi to Ajman. The service will operate between Al Musalla Station in Ajman and Abu Dhabi Bus Station, providing a convenient and reliable travel option for residents and visitors alike.

The schedule for the new service is as follows:

Passengers can purchase a ticket for Dh35, and payment can be made using the Masaar card, which simplifies the transaction process and enhances convenience for commuters.

In addition to the new bus service, APTA has also announced the resumption of the bus-on-demand (BOD) service in Ajman, which had been suspended since June 4. The BOD service, which operates minibuses from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, aims to address the needs of commuters by reducing waiting times and easing traffic congestion. The service utilizes an AI-powered app to facilitate bookings, determining the most efficient route based on real-time service requests.

Commuters using the BOD service will be charged Dh7 per ride through the app. For bookings involving additional passengers, a fee of Dh4 per person is charged, with a maximum of four people allowed per booking. This feature allows for flexible and efficient travel arrangements, accommodating groups and individual travelers alike.

For Abu Dhabi residents and travelers, several intercity bus routes are available to connect them to Sharjah and Dubai. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) operates the following key routes:

Additionally, the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) operates the 117R Route, which links Abu Dhabi to various locations within Sharjah. The fare for this route is Dh30. The 117R route includes stops at several key locations, such as:

For detailed planning of intercity journeys from Abu Dhabi, passengers can use the Darbi Journey Planner available at Darbi Journey Planner. By selecting ‘journey planner’ from the menu, passengers can input their departure and arrival stations, choose their preferred mode of transport, and access information on timing and fares.

Residents from Ras Al Khaimah also have access to intercity bus services to Abu Dhabi. These buses operate from Saturday to Friday, with departures at 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and a fare of Dh47. This service provides an additional travel option for those commuting between Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi.

Overall, these new and resumed services aim to enhance public transportation options, reduce travel times, and improve the overall commuting experience for residents and visitors throughout the UAE.
