Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital Expands Services to Northern UAE

Abu Dhabi: The Military Hospital in Sharjah is set to expand its services to residents of the northern regions, while continuing to serve military personnel and their families.

The expansion of services will begin on January 1, 2025, as the Zayed Military Hospital in Al Batayeh is being renamed Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital.

The state-of-the-art, 45,000 square meter, 200-bed inpatient hospital will have a large specialty outpatient department, six operating rooms, an in-house laboratory and pharmacy, a radiology department, an emergency and intensive care unit, along with several procedure rooms.

Educational Events
Managed and operated by M42, the hospital will introduce specialized health programs.

Efforts to bridge the gap between general well-being and healthcare access include comprehensive health screening, targeted educational activities, and tailored care plans.

The facility offers services in the following areas: endocrinology, family and internal medicine, neurology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, nephrology, cardiology, and diabetes management.

Military-civilian partnership
Dr. Aisha Sultan Al-Taheri, Major General and Acting Director of the Military Health Administration Directorate at the UAE Ministry of Defense, said the facility will provide the highest quality healthcare services.

“We are delighted with the first-of-its-kind military-civilian healthcare partnership between the Ministry of Defence and M42. Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital.

Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Managing Director of M42 and Group CEO, noted that the first-of-its-kind military-civilian partnership aims to have a tangible and positive impact on people’s lives.

“Our commitment to healthcare knows no bounds, and we are proud to serve communities in the Northern Regions with world-class services and specialist expertise to meet their healthcare needs,” Al Nowais added.
