UAE Father’s Graduation Frustration Leads to Job Offers and Umrah Tickets
ABU DHABI: A family has many reasons to rejoice over a father’s frustration at a distant location for his son’s graduation ceremony. A man living in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, took to microblogging site X to vent his frustration after his son’s school graduation ceremony was moved from Sharjah to Dubai. The post, which soon went viral, earned the son various job offers and Umrah tickets.
X user, @uaedivers, complained that his son was graduating from a Sharjah school, but the ceremony was held in Dubai.
“My son’s school is in Sharjah and graduation is in Dubai World Trade Center,” the man wrote in Arabic.
Also, “Why Dubai World Trade Center? Is Mohammad Alabar graduating?”
Since being uploaded, the post has received 1.1 million views, 1,874 likes and has been reposted numerous times.
Mohammed Al Alabar, founder of Emaar Properties, replied, “Congratulations on your son’s graduation, and God willing, he will be like or even better than Mohammed Alabar…and we have his job after graduation.”
To this, the father replied, “God bless you and your family, and you have pleased me with your reply and your patience in accepting my jokes.”
Not only Alabar, but other renowned sides including Expo City Dubai, Flynns and Tutweeds also expressed their interest in his son’s graduation.
Saudi Arabia’s budget airline Flynas commented, “We congratulate your son on his graduation and wish him success. On this occasion, with the aim of sharing the joy of success with you, we are proud to offer two round trip travel tickets to Makkah to perform Umrah rituals. We hope you can contact us via private message.
Expo City Dubai wrote, “Congratulations on your graduation and may you always be successful. You have a special invitation to enjoy a unique experience from Expo City Dubai and commemorate your graduation with souvenir photos in the Expo atmosphere.
“Congratulations on your son’s graduation, God willing, we will send a special bouquet and number,” the telecom giant said.
“Graduation is a historic moment and a mark in a graduate’s life. Of course, graduation ceremony at Dubai World Trade Center is a wonderful choice that will stay in their memory forever. We promise you an amazing ceremony and we are proud to be the preferred venue for graduation ceremonies,” Dubai World Trade Center commented in a post.
