In the wake of the tragic mass shooting incident in Prague, the UAE leadership has taken proactive steps to ensure the well-being and support of Emirati government officials injured in the attack.
The Dubai Media Office released a statement identifying the injured couple as Ahmed Ebrahim Obaid Ali Al Ali, serving as the director-general of the Umm Al Quwain Municipality, and Rowdah Al Mehrizi, the director of marketing and corporate communication at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Their names emerged among the 25 individuals wounded in what has been labeled as one of the Czech Republic’s most severe attacks.
Displaying a personal gesture of concern, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, reached out to the couple directly. During the conversation, he conveyed his heartfelt wishes for their speedy recovery and assured them of the full support of the UAE Government in this challenging time.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the commitment of the UAE Government to allocate all necessary measures and resources to aid citizens encountering distressing situations worldwide. He issued directives to pertinent authorities to ensure the utmost care for the two citizens, underscoring the government’s dedication to their well-being.
Adding to the concern, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, a Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, also extended his support by reaching out to the injured couple. He inquired about their condition and well-being, expressing his hopes for the safe return of their children to the UAE.
Further demonstrating diplomatic appreciation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, commended the Czech government’s efforts in attending to the wounded Emiratis. In a conversation with Jan Lipavský, the Czech Republic’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed sincere condolences and sympathy regarding the tragic attack.
These proactive initiatives underscore the UAE’s commitment to supporting its citizens in times of adversity and reinforcing diplomatic ties with countries involved in ensuring the safety and well-being of its nationals abroad.
