UAE President Performs Eid Al-Fitr Prayer, Emphasizing Righteousness and Community Values
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led the Eid Al-Fitr prayer at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, marking the beginning of the festive occasion with deep spiritual reflection and communal unity.
Sermon Highlights the Essence of Righteousness
The importance of righteousness in faith, worship, and social responsibility was the main topic of Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei’s Eid speech. He is the Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat. “Birr means vastness and universality in Arabic, encompassing all acts of goodness and kindness,” he stated.
Dr. Al Darei highlighted God’s kindness and generosity toward creation, emphasizing that righteousness is a basic value that is often addressed in the Holy Quran and is one of His glorious traits. He emphasized that righteousness is the foundation of a robust and prosperous society and exhorted believers to preserve the principles of their forefathers, who exemplified loyalty, steadfastness, and devotion to their country. He attributed the security, stability, and prosperity enjoyed by the UAE to these values.
UAE President Exchanges Eid Greetings and Pays Tribute
Sheikh Mohamed extended the sense of community and festivity by exchanging Eid wishes with worshipers after the service. He prayed for the soul of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and thanked him for his legacy as he read Al-Fatiha with other Sheikhs.
