UAE Leaders Send Eid Greetings to Arab and Muslim Nations
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the leaders of Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr. He conveyed his wishes for their continued progress, prosperity, and stability.
Joining him, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, along with His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, also sent similar congratulatory messages to Kings, Emirs, Presidents, and Prime Ministers of Arab and Islamic states.
Additionally, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, known as the Mother of the Nation and a key advocate for women and family welfare, has conveyed Eid greetings to the wives of Arab and Islamic leaders. She prayed for peace and blessings upon the Arab and Islamic nations.
Eid Al Fitr Official Date Declared
The UAE’s Presidential Court has officially announced that Eid Al Fitr will commence on March 30, 2025 (Sunday), following the confirmed sighting of the Shawwal crescent on the evening of March 29, 2025.
Preparations for Eid Prayers in Sharjah
The Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department has arranged 642 designated locations for Eid Al Fitr prayers. These include 454 prayer spaces in Sharjah City and Al Hamriyah, 103 locations in the Central Region, and 85 locations in the Eastern Region. To accommodate large crowds, the department has ensured that all prayer areas are well-prepared with audio equipment and properly arranged outdoor spaces. Coordination with Sharjah Police and the municipality will provide a safe and enjoyable prayer experience.
For the diverse expatriate community, certain prayer rooms and mosques will provide translations in Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil, and English. The Eid sermon will also be interpreted in sign language at Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal Mosque in the Al Jazzat district.
Abu Dhabi’s Festive Decorations
To commemorate Eid Al Fitr, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality illuminated important roadways, bridges, and public places with hundreds of colorful constructions and light shows. These displays include celebratory Eid greetings like “Happy Eid” and “Eid Mubarak,” illuminated Ramadan decorations reused for Eid, and decorations strategically placed to ensure traffic safety while adding to the festive atmosphere. These efforts seek to promote joy throughout the community by fostering a visually appealing and festive environment.
Traditional Eid Cannon Firing in Dubai
Dubai Police will continue the cherished tradition of firing Eid cannons, a cultural practice deeply rooted in UAE heritage. Specialised teams will operate cannons at seven locations across Dubai, including Za’abeel Grand Mosque in Za’abeel and the Eid prayer grounds in Umm Suqeim, Nad Al Hamar, Al Barsha, Nad Al Sheba, Al Baraha, and Hatta. Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Tarish Al Amimi, Commander of the Cannon Team, highlighted that the cannon-firing tradition holds a special place in UAE culture and remains an integral part of Eid celebrations.
Emergency Medical Services on Full Alert
Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) has created a comprehensive operating plan to ensure 24-hour emergency medical support throughout Eid celebrations. Key measures include the deployment of ambulance teams across Eid prayer grounds and significant public event locations, fast response units stationed at key celebration venues, and continuous emergency services for locals and visitors throughout the holiday.
