Hamdan bin Zayed Visits 3rd Liwa Date Festival, Highlights UAE’s Food Security Role
Abu Dhabi [UAE], October 12: Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Al Tafra Region, visited the third Liwa Date Festival and Auction organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.
Sheikh Hamdan acknowledged the festival’s important contribution to the advancement of sustainable agricultural growth and the fortification of the UAE’s position as a leader in food security.
During his visit to Madinat Zayed Festival in Al Dhafra region, His Highness highlighted the leadership’s continued support for traditional events, activities and competitions that contribute to the advancement of the agricultural sector.
He was also briefed on the festival’s efforts to encourage farm owners and growers to market Emirati dates. He also inspected booths showcasing modern agricultural methods used in palm cultivation and date production.
