UAE: Cement Factory Temporarily Closed After Technical Malfunction
A cement factory in Fujairah has been shut down due to a technical fault, the emirate’s Environmental Authority said on Sunday.
Environmental authorities in Fujairah responded quickly to a report of a technical fault at the factory, which resulted in thick smoke rising from the facility.
After identifying a problem in the factory’s operational phase, the Fujairah Environmental Authority team conducted a comprehensive operational analysis.
“The factory has expressed its cooperation by immediately suspending activities to reduce pollution caused by the malfunction, reaffirming its commitment to environmental protection and corporate social responsibility,” the company said in a statement.
The authority clarified that the factory’s closure was made in order to prioritize environmental protection and lessen the pollution that the malfunction generated.
A detailed plan of action to address the issue and prevent similar problems in the future will be provided by the factory shortly.
The factory also submitted a comprehensive technical report to the appropriate authorities on how to operate the machinery, examine it, check the filters that are in use, and assess the technologies.
