UAE Continues Humanitarian Aid to Gaza Amid Crisis

UAE Leads Global Humanitarian Aid Efforts with Ongoing Relief Mission in Gaza

As the world celebrates World Humanitarian Day on August 19, the UAE stands out as a global leader in humanitarian efforts, reiterating its commitment to providing aid in times of crisis. Nowhere is this more evident than in the ongoing relief efforts in Gaza, where the UAE has made several efforts to support the Palestinian people under “Operation Civilization Night 3.”

Over the past 28 days, the UAE has organized a major logistical operation, deploying vast resources to provide much-needed aid to Gaza’s displaced and vulnerable population. Four relief ships carrying 18,530 tonnes of other supplies, including medical equipment, shelter, food, water and clothing, were dispatched in an extensive relief effort. In addition, the UAE coordinated the delivery of 5,340 tons of aid via 257 cargo flights and sent 104 convoys with 19,819 tons of essential supplies.

Beyond providing basic needs, the UAE has taken proactive steps to support Gaza’s overstretched health system. The UAE plays a key role in strengthening hospitals and medical facilities, with special emphasis on treating the injured and improving access to life-saving treatment. These include the UAE Field Hospital in Rafah and the Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Egypt, both of which have provided critical medical services to hundreds of patients. The UAE has distributed 400 tons of medical supplies, including advanced medical equipment and organs, to hospitals and international organizations working in the region.

Responding to major challenges posed by the blockade and blockade of certain areas, the UAE’s “Goodness Birds” initiative successfully conducted 50 airdrops and delivered more than 3,382 tons of essential supplies to remote and isolated areas of northern Gaza. Even the most unreached can get help.

The UAE’s efforts are not limited to emergency aid; They have been sent to rebuild and improve Gaza’s essential infrastructure. Recognizing the critical need for access to clean water, the UAE has installed six state-of-the-art water desalination plants capable of producing 1.2 million gallons of clean water per day. In addition, the UAE has led the maintenance of key water distribution networks in Khan Yunis, providing clean drinking water to local households. The UAE has also provided water transport vehicles, sanitary equipment and other critical resources to assist local authorities in meeting the basic needs of the displaced population.

The UAE’s humanitarian efforts in Gaza underscore its broader global commitment to providing assistance in times of crisis. The country’s proactive and compassionate approach to humanitarian work has cemented its position as a leader in global relief efforts, demonstrating its ability to provide sustained support to those in need despite complex challenges.
