Abu Dhabi’s M42 Explores Investment Opportunities with Andhra Pradesh Government

A delegation from M42, an Abu Dhabi-based provider of medical services and innovative healthcare solutions, met with Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar at the APIIC head office here on July 4 (Thursday). The discussions centered on the potential for collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) government, highlighting the scope and opportunities for investment in the region.

According to an official release, Mr. Satya Kumar outlined the investment-friendly environment in the State and assured the M42 executives of the government’s full support in facilitating their entry. He emphasized the proactive measures taken by the State to attract and retain foreign investment, particularly in the healthcare sector. Mr. Kumar assured the delegates that the government would provide all necessary assistance to ensure a smooth and successful investment process.

The M42 delegates expressed a keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in the fields of genomics and medical technology. They identified the A.P. Med-tech zone in Visakhapatnam and the three economic zones approved by the Centre as their preferred locations for potential investment. The delegates highlighted the strategic advantages of these zones, including their infrastructure, connectivity, and supportive regulatory framework.

In addition to these areas, Mr. Kumar suggested that M42 consider the proposed Health City in Amaravati and the health hubs conceived in nine municipalities across the State. He highlighted the significant potential for growth and development in these regions, emphasizing the government’s commitment to creating world-class healthcare facilities. Mr. Kumar stressed that the State government was keen on tying up with M42 after due consultations, recognizing the company’s expertise and innovative approach in the healthcare sector.

The meeting was attended by several key officials, including Special Chief Secretary (Health, Medical and Family Welfare) M.T. Krishna Babu, Principal Secretary (Industries) N. Yuvaraj, and APIIC MD G. Lakshmisha. These officials provided additional insights into the State’s strategic vision for the healthcare sector and the specific initiatives underway to foster innovation and investment.

The discussions concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing optimism about the potential for a fruitful collaboration. The A.P. government reiterated its commitment to creating an enabling environment for foreign investors and leveraging the expertise of companies like M42 to enhance the State’s healthcare infrastructure and services.
