Moscow, Jan 30: Saudi Arabia is not participating in the meeting of sherpas and sous-sherpas of the BRICS countries in Moscow due to a “technical issue,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Tuesday.

“Our counterparts from Saudi Arabia have already attended events linked to BRICS, including after joining the group on January 1. There can be different reasons for Saudi Arabia’s not attending the Sherpas meeting, but it is a technical issue,” Ryabkov told reporters.

The country is likely to be attending all of the group’s meetings after finishing all internal discussions which are underway in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, the diplomat said.
