Qemtex Launches Powder Coatings Plant in UAE, Eyes Global Market Expansion
Qemtex Chemical Holding has announced the commissioning of its new powder coating plant in the UAE. Located in the Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone, the facility manufactures a range of products including architectural, industrial and specialized powder coatings.
The capacity expansion will be implemented in two phases: an initial production of 5,000 tonnes per annum will be increased to 10,000 tonnes in the second phase. Qemtex plans to allocate at least 30% of its production to the UAE domestic market, while the remaining 70% is intended for export to the GCC, MENA, EU, US markets.
Alexander Glukov, CEO of the group, said: “We have gathered a strong international team of experts with 30 years of industry experience from over a dozen countries. This allows us to create innovative and environmentally friendly solutions for customers around the world.”
The company invested $16 million in manufacturing facilities and a state-of-the-art R&D center. The center is designed to be one of the top three powder coating research facilities in the region.
Experts estimate that the global powder coating market will grow by 5.5% annually by 2029, which will create favorable conditions for the company’s ambitious plans. “With increasing global demand for powder coatings, our new UAE plant is the first step in Qemtex’s international strategic development plan to become one of the top 10 global manufacturers,” said Shantos Demircali, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
