The couple are Pakistani citizens, the official said. The couple arrived in Indore from Sharjah on Tuesday night by Air India Express flight, but according to their visas, they can enter India only through Delhi airport, the official said.

Pakistani citizens in India
Over the past two months, the entry of Pakistani nationals into India has been making headlines. One of the most celebrated is the case of Seema Haider, who allegedly crossed the border from Nepal and is now settled in Noida.

Their relationship became the talk of the town, where the couple received media and social media acclaim, but also faced scrutiny from Indian intelligence agencies.

Subsequently, Anju, now Fatima, went to Pakistan in July to marry her Facebook friend Nasrullah. However, he later returned to India through the Wagah border. After interrogation by agencies, he was taken to Amritsar airport.

Another cross-border relationship made headlines last December when a woman from Pakistan crossed the Indian border to marry a man from West Bengal. According to reports, Jawaria Khanam, a native of Karachi, Pakistan, crossed the Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar, where she was received by family members of her fiance Sameer Khan.
