Om Birla Advocates Regular India-UAE Parliamentary Exchanges to Enhance Bilateral Ties
New Delhi, Sep 5 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has underlined the importance of regular parliamentary exchanges between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to strengthen bilateral ties. Parliament Building Complex.
It is noteworthy that the delegation was headed by Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Security, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee.
On the occasion, citing India’s history and the centuries-old civilizational and cultural relationship between India and the UAE, Birla noted that there has been a significant increase in people-to-people contacts between the two countries since independence. As a result, a large number of Indian citizens are staying in the UAE and contributing to its progress and prosperity. He underlined the need to further develop people-to-people contacts and partnership between the two countries.
Noting the strong potential for collaboration in technology, innovation and investment in India, Birla opined that due to joint ventures, India has become the fifth largest economy in the world.
Referring to his visit to the UAE in 2022, Birla expressed the view that regular inter-parliamentary debate and dialogue has led to better understanding between the two countries. He explained that understanding on global and regional issues between the two countries is the basis of strong relations between the two countries. Birla also called for frequent exchange of parliamentary representatives between the two countries to strengthen bilateral ties.

Referring to our historical and strategic ties, it emphasized the need to further strengthen cooperation in trade, technology and people-to-people contacts. He also underlined the need to increase parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Observing that India and the UAE are promoting the growth and prosperity of their countries through technology, Birla suggested that through mutual dialogue, the parliaments of both countries can share their achievements and best practices. He suggested that regular discussions and dialogues between the parliamentary committees of the two countries should be promoted so that both can learn from each other’s experiences.
Highlighting India’s spirit of ‘Vishva Bandhu’, Birla observed that India prioritizes mutually beneficial development. He happily noted that the two countries are taking the tradition of cultural and trade exchange to new heights. He expressed hope that tourism between India and the UAE will be further boosted. Referring to the Indian community in the UAE, Birla expressed happiness over the construction of the Swami Narayan Temple facilitated by the UAE government. He hailed the achievement as a testament to strong cultural ties.
Speaking on the occasion, Al Nuaimi praised the spirit of brotherhood between the two countries. He said India and the UAE share centuries-old historical ties. Emphasizing people-to-people contacts, he said that both the countries should strive to raise their bilateral relations to the next level. He also lauded the visionary leadership of both countries for their strong commitment to trade, technology and cultural ties leading to growth and prosperity.
