Israel Marks 77th Independence Day with Diplomatic Reception in UAE, Strengthening Bilateral Ties

The Embassy of Israel in the United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the Consulate General in Dubai, hosted a special diplomatic reception in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to celebrate Israel’s 77th Independence Day.
High-ranking officials attended the event, including members of the Israeli and Jewish communities, diplomats, business executives, and representatives of the UAE government.

Consul General Liron Zaslansky and Ambassador Yossi Shelly greeted guests and commended the growing friendship between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, which was made possible by the Abraham Accords. Ambassador Shelly thanked the UAE leadership for their friendship and support during his remarks, and he reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in fields like trade, education, culture, and technological innovation.
Along with expressing optimism for the Abraham Accords’ expansion, Netanyahu emphasized Israel’s goal of a more united and peaceful Middle East.
Shelly highlighted the roles played by UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, former U.S. President Donald Trump, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in reshaping the region, stating that their contributions to peace could be worthy of a Nobel Prize.

The reception served as both a celebration and a reaffirmation of the growing diplomatic and people-to-people ties between Israel and the UAE, two nations now united by shared goals and a forward-looking agenda for regional cooperation.
