Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, visited the inaugural Hatta Festival organized by Brand Dubai and the Supreme Committee Overseeing Hatta Development. During the visit, he received a detailed overview of the diverse events and activities, emphasizing the festival’s alignment with the third edition of the Dubai Destinations campaign.

His Highness appreciated the festival’s goal of showcasing Hatta as a unique tourist destination, encompassing exceptional sites, cultural events, sports activities, and luxury resorts. Impressed by the festival’s success, Sheikh Hamdan issued directives for it to be organized annually, leveraging Hatta’s appeal to a global audience.

Acknowledging the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan highlighted Hatta’s emergence as a model of economic development and youth empowerment. He emphasized Dubai’s commitment to developing tourist destinations in line with global standards and cultural distinctiveness, reflecting Sheikh Mohammed’s vision.

During the visit, His Highness explored various tourist draws in Hatta, including Al Sharea area, Hatta Heritage Village, and Leem Park. He witnessed the significant community engagement across cultural, sports, and social events and was briefed on the ‘Proudly from Dubai’ initiative, supporting the startup community.

The Hatta Festival showcased diverse projects, benefiting both youth and residents of Hatta. Sheikh Hamdan was particularly interested in the creative endeavors of young Hatta residents, visiting the GoGravity project, the Middle East’s first outdoor zorbing track.

The festival also featured artistic workshops, educational experiences for children, ice skating, roller skating, and the Hatta Honey Festival, promoting local honey varieties. The visit highlighted the festival’s potential to become an annual event and a family destination, enhancing Dubai’s global tourism standing.

As part of the #DubaiDestinations campaign, the festival aligns with directives from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This campaign spotlights unique places, activities, and attractions, positioning Dubai as a beloved winter getaway.

Dubai initiated a comprehensive development plan for Hatta in October 2021, aligning with the Urban Master Plan 2040. This plan prioritizes infrastructure development and a series of projects over the next two decades, showcasing Dubai’s commitment to holistic development across all regions of the emirate.
