Several regions in the UAE are already experiencing rainfall, with temperatures expected to drop to as low as 8 degrees Celsius in specific areas.
The prevailing weather conditions have prompted concerns about blowing dust, attributed to winds ranging from light to moderate. The forecast indicates a day of continuous rain, particularly over coastal and northern regions, with the overall weather expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy.
Nighttime and early Friday conditions in various interior sections are predicted to be muggy, with light to moderate winds contributing to dust in the air. The Arabian Gulf is expected to experience rough seas, while the Oman Sea will see moderate to rough conditions.
In Abu Dhabi, temperatures are anticipated to range between 16 to 25 degrees Celsius, while Dubai is expected to experience temperatures ranging from 18 to 26 degrees Celsius. Mountainous areas may see temperatures drop to as low as 8 degrees Celsius.
Comparing this winter to previous years, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) notes a milder winter in the UAE. December and January have seen higher average temperatures and reduced rainfall, according to Dr. Ahmed Habib from the National Climate Management.
As the Meteorological Center continues to emphasize the potential for rain and hypothermia, the current weather condition in the UAE varies from partly overcast to fair. Rainfall is expected in specific northern regions, with elevated humidity and the possibility of mist in some interior areas during the night.
Wind speeds are projected to range from light to moderate, with the Arabian Gulf experiencing moderate to rough seas and the Oman Sea described as minor to moderate.
