Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a 24/7 truck ban on specific roads within the Nad Al Sheba Reserve as part of the city’s comprehensive development initiatives. The move, effective since December, is aligned with the strategic plans to revamp various areas and reserves in Dubai, with Nad Al Sheba being a focal point for extensive redevelopment in the coming years.
Development companies operating in Nad Al Sheba and drivers of heavy vehicles are urged by the RTA to utilize alternative routes designated for trucks. In cases where trucks must access the restricted roads, drivers are required to obtain a mobility permit through the integrated traffic system of RTA and Dubai Police.
To ensure compliance with the new restrictions, RTA, in collaboration with Dubai Police and other relevant entities, will actively monitor truck drivers. Violation tickets will be issued to those found in breach of the new regulations. This measure follows the completion of the initial phase of the Al Meydan Street improvement project, which included converting roundabouts into signalized junctions and installing signs at street entrances branching from Al Khail Road and Al Meydan Street.
