Abu Dhabi: The upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations in Abu Dhabi will feature an unprecedented 60-minute fireworks spectacle.

This announcement was made by the Higher Organizing Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Festival, currently held at Al Wathba showgrounds in Abu Dhabi

The festivities are set to feature an extensive and opulent firework showcase, spanning over 60 minutes, aimed at breaking four Guinness World Records. These records will encompass aspects related to quantity, duration, and the intricate design of the display. In addition, an intricate drone exhibition involving more than 5,000 drones will grace the skies of Al Wathba, showcasing intricate formations—a groundbreaking feat and a novel record for the region.

The New Year’s celebration at the Festival will feature an unprecedented laser show, complemented by unique presentations from the Emirates Fountain, Glowing Towers Garden, Festival pavilions, and a lineup of diverse cultural performances from around the globe.

Fireworks: The Sheikh Zayed Festival is set to break multiple Guinness World Records with an extraordinary 60-minute fireworks display, achieving new benchmarks in quantity, duration, and formation. It promises visitors an unparalleled experience as they welcome 2024, witnessing an exceptional fireworks spectacle.

Drone Shows: In a groundbreaking move, the Festival will showcase over 5,000 drones painting the Al Wathba skies with stunning formations in a dazzling New Year celebration, setting yet another Guinness World Record.

Laser Shows: The event will feature a groundbreaking laser show, a first in the region, accompanied by special laser and music displays at the Emirates Fountain. This captivating showcase will set the ideal ambiance for visitors of all ages to usher in the New Year.

Entertainment and Art shows: At the Festival, attendees can revel in a vibrant atmosphere filled with joy and celebration on New Year’s Eve. The Sheikh Zayed Festival’s Organizing Committee has set up large screens outside the Festival square to broadcast the anticipated high turnout for New Year’s Eve celebrations. These screens will showcase various events, activities, and performances during the celebration.

Numerous Celebratory Highlights: At the heart of the Festival, the Heritage Village will host several events to ring in the New Year, featuring Al Razfa and Ayala dances. Various institutions and government bodies participating in the Festival will offer entertaining events at their pavilions. Special activities tailored for children, such as games, competitions, and fun fair attractions like the House of Horror and Al Forsan International Sports Resort, will add to the festive atmosphere.

Moreover, the participating countries’ pavilions will mark New Year 2024 with carnival shows, folkloric performances, and cultural celebrations unique to their cultures. As part of the World Civilizations Parade, vibrant folkloric performances will traverse the Festival grounds, enriching the celebration with diverse cultural events and joyous surprises for all attendees.

The Sheikh Zayed Festival extends a warm welcome to visitors daily until March 9, 2024.
