In a strategic move towards enhancing connectivity and promoting smart city development, Abu Dhabi has launched a free public Wi-Fi initiative covering various public spaces, including parks and beaches. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) and UAE service providers.
The free public Wi-Fi service is currently available in 19 public parks in Abu Dhabi, 11 parks in Al Ain, and 14 parks in the Al Dhafra Region. The initiative aims to provide seamless connectivity in these recreational spaces, ensuring that residents and visitors can stay connected while enjoying outdoor amenities.
The coverage is set to expand further, with plans to include additional popular locations such as Abu Dhabi Corniche beach and Al Bateen beach. This expansion will contribute to making Wi-Fi access more widely available at key leisure destinations.
